Buckley Kohler Interior Design & Decoration

I've been working in the design world for more than 30 years. I've wanted to design houses since I was six or seven years old. Though, I was rearranging my mother's table scapes much earlier than that. I was always interested in painting and drawing. I made those my concentration, along with French, at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. Before working on my own, I worked for 5 years as one of the two Principal (Senior) Designers with Tucker and Marks, an AD 100 firm, in San Francisco. Some of my photos reflect work created while I was there. I got my start by working with Douglas Kohler, A.S.I.D. when I was 16 as a design assistant working my way up to Senior Designer. He was a wonderful mentor and I am forever grateful for the opportunity that he gave me so many years ago. I enjoy being part of the Northern California ICAA. (The Institute for Classical Architecture & Art) It affords the opportunity for continuing education and the ability to mix with fellow colleagues. I recently did a painting and drawing course with them in Rome. It was amazing! We're blessed to have a talented and service-oriented team. My right-hand colleague is designer Caroline Collins. We've worked together for almost 7 years. She brings a strong business background, project management skills, and a creative, discerning, design eye to the whole process and it gives us great balance as a team. So that we can make the process more enjoyable for you. We're passionate about design-Which includes gardens and flowers, as well as sourcing fine art, antiques, and textiles for every project which are as varied as our clients. Our team's desire is to make sanctuaries for our clients- To create beautifully designed, comfortable, and highly personal rooms of the highest quality materials available. We see people's homes as vehicles to comfort and nurture their spirits. We imbue every project with a high level of care and attention to detail- Transmuting our client's dreams-turning them into realities. We try to be as financially transparent and efficient as possible and will generate budgets, up front, in our effort to align with our client's financial wishes. We are proactive and like to be involved at the onset of the project to save our clients from making costly mistakes-either architectural or design related.
