Carl Williamson

I asked Carl to fabricate a piece of custom wood furniture. I sent him a design, he said it looked great, I sent a deposit, and he said it would be done in mid-September. In early October he said the piece was done but the delivery/ installation crew was set back several weeks due to covid. He promised it would be delivered in November. In November, he made more excuses. I asked for photos of the piece. He did not respond. I asked for my money back—all of it, including the “non-refundable” design fee. To his credit, he sent it right away. I don’t know what happened, but clearly the piece was not built, despite his assurances.

My husband and I bought our lake front home about four years ago. I didnt know were to begin...the spaces are large and I just could not tackle them on my own. I engaged the services of Carl Williamson. He was a pleasure to work with from start to finish! Professional, knowledgeable, supremely talented and personable but most of all, Carl listens! I felt like the design process was a true collaboration. Carl interpreted my vision beautifully. I now have an incredibly beautiful home to share with my family and friends. We are so grateful to you Carl. Thank you sincerely for all of your care, attention to the details and exceptional follow through!

I enjoyed working with Carl Williamson as we downsized from our large family home in Potomac, MD to a condo at Parc Potomac. Carl created an overall design plan incorporating a few special furniture pieces that I couldn’t part with into the new spaces. The end result was really breathtaking. The few special heirloom pieces were given new life when paired with transitional style upholstery, furniture, rugs and lighting. Carl’s guidance, patience, and incredible design talent made what would have been a difficult move easy and enjoyable. Our new condo is a wonderful place to live and entertain in. I reached out to Carl Williamson several years ago when my husband and I were in the process of downsizing. I had engaged Carl to design our new Great Room, and Dining Room. We are so pleased with all of his excellent work. The spaces function beautifully regardless if it is just my husband and I or our entire family. During Quarantine in summer of 2020, I reached out to Carl and asked him to redo a small living room, our master bedroom, two guest bedrooms, and my husbands office. The challenge would be that we could not meet in person due to CDC guidelines. Carl retained our files which included our house plans. In no time he had designed the various spaces. He presented us with his design via Zoom and Fed. Ex'd fabrics, rug and wood samples to our home for approval. I was so impressed with how deftly he accomplished this project without stepping foot into our home. The rooms were installed in 2021 and I could not be happier with the results!! Professional, talented, and personable...Carl has created a home that we just love! Thank you Carl for all of your excellent work!

It had become somewhat of a running joke how our newly acquired beach house remained basically empty for eleven months. I could have easily filled the spaces with furniture, however the historic house and oceanfront views required something very special. We saw a design project that Carl Williamson had just completed for good friends one evening and telephoned Carl the next morning. Since then, my husband and I have had the pleasure of working with Carl Williamson on three homes throughout the last 15 years-all different-the beach house, a penthouse in Chicago and an antique farm house in Connecticut. We appreciated how Carl took into consideration the architecture, location and how we would live and entertain in each home. Carl has created visually stunning, unique and special spaces for us to enjoy. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite. Thank you Carl for your talent, expertise, professionalism, and friendship.

In 2016 my wife and I were in the process of having a Townhouse built in the Urbana Community of Frederick, Maryland. Our existing furniture was a mixture of family hand-me-downs and inexpensive pieces purchased out of necessity. In our new home, we envisioned a sophisticated urban vibe where we could entertain friends and family. We had admired Carl Williamson's work for sometime. We follow him on Instagram and Facebook and connected with him directly through Houzz. from our initial conversation, it felt as if Carl understood what we were trying to accomplish. We did not have the budget the budget available to do everything at once. Carl suggested coming up with an overall design for our townhouse and implementing the design in phases as funds became available. Carl took the time to educate us on upholstery construction, window treatments, hand made rugs and gave us an overview of what various vendors had to offer. He suggested that we purchase the best quality we could afford in order to live with pieces that would withstand everyday use and provide many years of enjoyment. The phases took over 4 years to complete. We began with necessities-great room, master bedroom and counter stool for the kitchen. Carl's guidance was strategic, thoughtful and he showed a lot of professional patience. The final phase of draperies, pillows, accessories and lighting were recently installed. The final result is more amazing and gratifying than we could have ever imagined. We could not be happier! It's interesting to look back and the floor plans and design boards and be living in the finished project. We highly recommend Carl Williamson. He is talented, professional, knowledgeable and well organized. We will be Carl's clients for life.
