Leonard Braunschweiger and Company

Leonard helped us redesign and furnish our new home in Suburban Westchester. He was a pleasure to work with. Leonard is very professional, scrupulously honest and has a great eye. Leonard listened carefully to what we wanted but also was our teacher, introducing us to materials, concepts and styles we were unfamiliar with. He made some architectural changes in the home which turned a "builder's home" into a high-end custom house. This included enlarging and framing the doorways off the entry in cherry wood and antique glass and designing several gorgeous and highly functional built-ins. His recommendations for painters, craftsmen and manufacturers were all excellent. The look of our home is classic and elegant and clean. We are so appreciative of Leonard's talent and easygoing manner and we do not hesitate to recommend him.

Leonard helped me to downsize from a 3 bedroom apartment in Bronxville to a 1 bedroom apartment in Valhalla. He helped me decide what to bring and where to put everything. I would recommend Leonard because he always had a fresh approach to problems and interesting solutions. He was great to work with.

Leonard was retained to redesign the lobby of my co-op. He was the only designer that didn't try to impose his own taste on us, but rather, LISTENED to what we needed and incorporated our desires into a wonderful design that ultimately transformed the appearance of our building. We found him to be an excellent choice: professional, knowledgeable, cooperative, communicative, & patient. He guided us through each step of the process. He didn't overrun our budget. When sub-contracting was needed he brought in reputable people. The appeal of the renovated lobby has helped sell units in the building. 

I've also seen other work he's done; the result is always jaw-dropping, because he puts his heart & soul into it. You just can't do better than Leonard!!!

I have worked with Leonard in 3 spaces over 30 yrs. Initially there was a library and master bath in an elegant and grand Central Park West apartment. The next space was a much smaller apartment to be used for a short period. This time Leonard designed a couple of unique arches which gave the illusion of greater space; the main arch was designed in a Renaissance style with elaborate faux marble moldings and details. Photos of the apartment were subsequently published in a national magazine! The final stop, where I live now, was a cookie cutter 1960's apartment, nevertheless in a great building with a wonderful location. Here the apartment was turned into a unique space with full height wood panel doors that fold back to create a loft-like space that allows full advantage of spectacular views overlooking Central Park. Multiple closets and an office of figured maple wood walls were also created. This space is home now and I cannot thank Leonard enough for his creativity and style, and for teaching me about modern style and comfort. I consider Leonard a good friend and a very good professional who is easy and fun to work with.
