About Us

A graduate of The Johns Hopkins University, owner/designer/colour consultant Lydia Baker, has practiced interior design for over twenty years in the Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and DC areas. Lydia's rooms have been featured in the Baltimore Sun, the Washington Post, the Carroll County Times, as well as Better Homes & Gardens, Window and Wall Ideas. She has generously contributed to eight local decorator showhouses benefiting Historic Ellicott City, Inc, The Historical Society of Carroll County, and the Baltimore Symphony Association. Lydia also designed and oversaw the completion of a Make A Wish bedroom for a young teenager. Lydia's expert listening skills enable her to gather the needed information to advise and to create interior spaces based on our clients' individual preferences and requirements. I have worked with Lydia Baker, Patrick Street Interiors, for at least 15 years. We moved into a home that was built in the 70's. We quickly realized that all rooms needed updates and a few rooms needed major renovations. Lydia helped us prioritize our needs, helped us establish a long term plan, and assisted with all choices no matter how large or how small. Whether it was choosing paint colors, completely redecorating a bedroom or gutting a bathroom, we depended on Lydia to help make selections based on our budget, our style and advised on the function of our choices.. She based every decision on our family likes and dislikes; our color options (my husband is color blind and often cannot see colors that appeal to him); and how we wanted to use the room. I have recommended Lydia to many friends and relatives and continue to use her services when ever I start a new project.

I have worked with Lydia Baker in remodeling different rooms in my house. She has provide excellent suggestions for paint colors as well as furniture pieces, lighting, and carpet for my family room, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. I trust her suggestions and the finish project is always spectacular.

If you like Farrow & Ball paints and you live in or near Frederick, MD, then you have a resource in your backyard. They have Fine Paints of Europe as well. Both of these paints are a joy to work with.

I originally found Lydia Baker, owner and designer at Patrick Street Interiors because I was looking for Farrow & Ball paint, and found a fantastic resource. She also offers Farrow & Ball wallpaper, and Hunter Douglas window treatments. She offers complete design services including consultations as well, with a large selection of wallpapers, and drapery and upholstery fabrics. She has a keen color sense, and helped me design a palette for my entire house, as well as choosing fabric and getting an upholsterer to recover my dining room chairs. She also recommended a terrific painter and a talented wallpaper hanger. A great treasure.
