About Us

Sarah graduated magna cum laude from Watkins College of Art, Design & Film with a BFA in interior design and an associate's degree in environmental science. She joined Ethan Allen with years of experience in designing a warm, functional and inviting environments, often helping clients to coordinate cherished possessions with new furnishings as they fill their living spaces. She can work with any sort of spatial footprint and is proficient in a wide variety of decorating styles. Sarah has a Tennessee contractor's license and is also a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the co-chair of the Chattanooga Chapter. She has worked with the Greater Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity as a construction coordinator, where she was involved in designing home interiors, working with the new homeowners in the selection of furnishings and much more.

It was a pleasure working with Sarah in the redesign of our home. We had 3 rooms we updated. The den was a complete redo while preserving a few art pieces. The room's colors were designed from one of our paintings from the Tetons Sarah maximized our seating area as well as opening up the room. The living room is a small space that was overcrowded with a couch, loveseat, 2end tables and a piano. Since this room is only used for the grandkids to play piano and put the Christmas tree up, Sarah's recommendations for layout and furniture opend the room up and gave it a grand elegant design. We kept the 1970's dining room set, but updated the chairs by recovering the chairs and adding a rug. Sarah's layout of the rooms along with the colors and accent colors tranformed our home to a higer level of excellence. All 3 of the rooms are more open and inviting. We are very proud to entertain our guests in our beautiful home.

We visited with Sarah Hathcock Hamilton when we were searching for a dining room set. She showed all the different styles and gave us many options from which to choose. Sarah knows her designs and has a wonderful knowledge of her product that is very helpful to her clients.

Sarah is a very creative, 'think-outside-the-box' kind of designer. We weren't sure exactly what we were looking for but with her guidance/suggestions, we zeroed in on perfect additions to our living room. Her follow-up is also first class......the experience was one of our best!

My husband and I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and working with Sarah last April. We just "stopped in" at the Ethan Allen store while looking for a dinette table and chairs for our new home. We found Sarah to be very knowledgeable; she has everything at her fingertips and offers helpful and creative suggestions! We left the store being very excited with our purchase. It was exactly what we had hope to find and for a price we were willing to pay. We actually returned to buy additional pieces of furniture because we were pleased with the products she sells and with her design expertise. Sarah was a delight to work with and I have continued to stay in touch with her regarding design questions (to which she promptly replies). I couldn't ask for better service!

Sarah Hathcock has a great eye for design and is dedicated to each client that she has. She truly designs a room to cater to the needs of the people she is working with and listen's to what they truly want in their space. Sarah is well organized, proficient and always willing to go the extra step for her client's needs. Ruth Hathcock

A few years ago my husband and I were looking for a larger home. After an extensive search looking for our dream home we decided to remodel and build onto our present home. Our designer Sarah helped us to put our desires onto paper, then blue prints, and now a reality. We literally took the roof off and added a second story. Our 2,200 sq. foot home is now our 5,000 dream home. 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a huge designer kitchen and family room, formal living room and dining room. My husband's dream movie room is the envy of all his friends. Our 26x26 game room, with a full bar is a highlight of all our guests. I even have my own craft room! Sarah has been as integral part of our design, paint color, carpet selections, tile, hardwood, and countertop selections. Sarah helped find the perfect furniture and even worked with antiques we wanted to keep. She put colors and designs together I would have never thought of. She has been heaven sent.
