Tai likes an easy flow in a room. Having a construction background, Tai has an intuitive sense of space planning. Known for making minor changes that have a big impact, Tai is trained n the ancient art of feng shui. Tai looks at all the elements in a room to improve its natural flow of energy.
Prior to joining Ethan Allen in 2006, Tai worked in the real estate development and construction industries. As a project controller, he managed residential projects from start to finish. Interacting with building contractors, management, designers and realtors, he is adept in project and budget management issues. With a B.S. in Finance, Tai polished his design skills at both Fairfield University and Catherine Gibbs School.
Tai does house calls. Upon arrival, he likes to tour the home and make suggestions regarding overall improvements. Measurements, pictures, budget management, traffic flows, discussion of objectives and functionality of the space are all part of his house call protocol. For Tai, inquiring as to a client’s habits is none too personal, but increases client satisfaction.
Tai is known for being on top of every detail. Clients are fully informed; every step of the process is spelled out. Tai is the go-to person for getting things done. To Tai, personal connection and regular communication are the keys to a successful design project. By really taking the time to listen, he is able to gain insight into a client’s personal style. Tai enjoys working with clients who appreciate his personal, direct and honest approach.
One of his favorite recent projects: “I worked on a Karen’s beach house in Stamford. She wanted a relaxed look somewhere between Newport, Contemporary, and Rustic styles.” What did you like best about working on this project: “That the client was open to my suggestions –even using lobster and crab traps for coffee and side tables. It was great fun!”
