Tanga was refereed to me by an acquaintance. I was in desperate need of advice and creative ideas for an outdated home that had over 3,800 square feet, 4-1/2 baths and 5 bedrooms. I had a large investment in this home and had interviewed several designers and found that their ideas were more important in the design, then trying to incorporate some of my ideas.. I had the pleasure of meeting Tanga after 3 months into the project and immediately was able to connect with her. I thank heavens, that she was involved when serious construction issues were discovered. She was able to put a new perspective on this problems, calmed my fears and advised me, since we were down to the studs, ways that we could use these issues to our advantage. We were then able to incorporate new and updated ideas and designs into this home. She has great vision not only for color and design but also was able to work with my contractor when construction issues arose that he felt could not be implemented into our design. He was amazed at how these issues ended up being resolved, with her amazing expertise and without upsetting him. She was also budget conscious and had several resources available that saved me money. I have worked with many designers in the past and Tanga is by far the best. I have referred her to others and they loved working with her as much as I did. She is a true Southern Lady and I look forward to working with her again in the future on my own personal condo.

I have been working with Tanga over several years. She helped me create a home that is relaxing and comfortable with a lot of 'wow". She brings things together using what you already have in a way you never considered and finds the pieces you need to finish the look. Tanga's design style isn't like any other designer I've ever met or worked with, she truly has a knack for mixing design styles to create something especially unique for her clients. I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. After doing some research online to find a local interior designer by visiting websites and making phone calls, I got the name, Tanga Winstead, through a friend and visited her Tanga Winstead Designs website, which was very informative, and decided to approach her to discuss her space planning and interior design services to get my home ready for retirement which is still a few years away. My home is a townhouse/condominium (part of a 6 unit condo association) and my main objective was to have an “expert” see my space and recommend to me the best design for it and obtain the best furnishings, window treatments, cabinetry in kitchen and full bath, what to do in my half bath, how to optimize closet space, and also repair/install a new deck area with storage, etc. to make it all come together for my “retirement ready” home. I also wanted to get the planning and designing laid out and go right into the next phase of implementing all the improvements/changes that I envisioned all at one time. From the initial walk through/site visit of my home, Tanga was able to “read” my tastes and needs and in 2 days produced via email a very detailed punch list which was “spot on” and she laid out her hourly fees and explained how a remodel such as mine could proceed. I was already pleased at the speed of this response. I could tell that she worked quickly and was efficient with the task at hand. Further explaining in that initial email, she could provide options to me on sourcing products herself or we could do the sourcing together. Because my project included lighting, plumbing and flooring aspects, she provided me a list of contacts for a flooring person, electrician and plumber as well as contacts for a contractor and a/c person. After the receipt of this first email, I was ready to hire Tanga Winstead for my project. Because I still work full time and my office is miles away from my office, Tanga became the project manager and was very involved with the coordination of every aspect of the project from obtaining the initial quotes from contractor and subcontractors and meeting and discussing with them every issue concerning their respective jobs and keeping me fully advised of everything happening/all work being done. Tanga sourced products for floors, window treatments, furniture, kitchen cabinetry and appliances, hardware, lighting – well everything. She gave me options again capturing my taste; I made the choices; she ordered products; she either personally received the products at my home or the contractor was there to receive; oversaw assembly of deliveries – and so much more. I also decided to "come into" the 21st century with Smart TVs and Tanga even had an AV contact who assisted me with that. She hung personal pieces for me. She advised me on bedroom linens and bathroom towels, mat and hamper. And she did all of that while being mindful of my budget. For that, I was so happy. I am not yet retired, but I am ready when the time comes. Tanga met all my expectations and more. She also always took time to fully explain things if I had any questions about anything. She is knowledgeable about all aspects of her business and has resources and contacts for every single thing I wanted/needed - knew where to find whatever it is I wanted and who to contact. I still have a few “odds and ends” to get and will definitely call on Tanga to help me with finding some art – finding the right pieces to complete my vision for a peaceful, beautiful home in retirement. I highly recommend Tanga Winstead Designs and know that Tanga can fulfill the needs of anyone wanting help with space planning and interior designing and also being mindful of the budget.
