Seventy Acres Landscape Architecture & Design

As first time homeowners we felt very fortunate to be introduced to Brook Clark from Seventy Acres Landscape Architecture and Design by our gardener and arborist. They both spoke very highly of Brook and we enjoyed meeting her at our home and walking around our property. She was very open to our thoughts while also giving us many ideas to consider, including how to incorporate existing shrubs into a new design. Brook personally presented us with a beautiful final design - explaining all the details. During the instillation Brook was on site directing which existing foliage needed to be removed / replanted and placing all the new shrubs and trees. The finished project was a huge transformation to our home and we could not be happier !

Brook and Nancy from Seventy Acres are fabulous. Not only are they extremely personable but their knowledge and passion for landscape architecture and design is top-tier. They are refreshing, seeing the acute details and also the big picture for the properties they work on. As a company which works with both planting and tree care we see a multitude of properties that have nice initial designs but are over planted and cannot last the test of time. Seventy Acres see things differently, creating sustainable landscapes that last the tests of time. Brook and Nancy also manage their properties after completion to make sure that everything is in order from the ground to up in the trees for years to come. When interviewing landscape architects for my property remodel and new pool, Seventy Acres stood out from the rest. They understood and interpreted my vision of creating an outdoor space which would work with the architecture of my traditional Victorian house. I wanted it to stand out from yet blend in with our neighborhood of historical homes. From our very first meeting they exceeded my expectations; The Master Plan combined the existing and proposed features in perfect harmony. Seventy acres was with me through then entire process from design to construction drawings to overseeing construction . I appreciate their attention to detail, meticulousness, and creativity—they brought my dreams to life and I would highly recommend them!

Seventy Acres is an outstanding firm. Nancy does her homework, and offered creative solutions and a unique design. Nancy provided us a budget, and worked within the budget. She was very hands on with the material selection and installation. We highly recommend Seventy Acres and will use them again for our next project.

Nancy understood my vision and made it come alive. Some aspects of the design seemed impossible given how small my yard is but she made it perfect. She also referred me to all the right people for landscaping lighting, plantings, maintenance, metal features, stone features and watering systems. My house is on the sound so she selected appropriate plants for our area. I have been here only one year but we have had colors and blooms since June. I am so looking forward to watching it develop over the full year. I highly recommend Nancy.

We hired Nancy King and her company Seventy Acres to design and build our patio and outdoor areas for our transitional modern farmhouse in Litchfield County, Ct. Her artistry can be seen on her Houzz site. She did a great job, was a pleasure to work with all throughout the process. Her assessment and recos for sub-contractors were excellent. Nancy has a wonderful personality, is very organized and really helped bring our unified vision to completion. Our house is a delight to behold...we truly enjoy all the beautification she brought to it. Her husband Charles is a great guy, super creative also, and took the wonderful photographs.
