We had GCLC redo our backyard last year just as the pandemic started to happen. The job included building a retaining wall, tiling most of the backyard, installing a new fence, installing lighting and building a large planter box that spans the length of the new fence. The team at GCLC made us feel like we were in great hands right from the start. Their professionalism was outstanding and the quality of the work was excellent. We're extremely happy with the end result. There's more work we need to get done out there in the next couple of years and we're definitely going to hire GCLC for that as well.

We have been using GCLC (Great Canadian Landscaping) for a year for our Strata's landscaping and we started using them for Snow removal this year (2019-2020). Our previous company over salted and killed a number of our garden plants as well as an expensive hedge. As well their attention to snow clearing was lacking at best. I was constantly out clearing our walkways and the city sidewalks that where our legal responsibility. GCLC uses IceMelt, a pet safe product, and a much more careful and thoughtful application that seems to not affect our plants as much, AND the "gold star", the snow clearing is down to the concrete. Our sidewalks are clearer than our neighbours! The areas around entrances, recycling and garbage areas are thoroughly cleared making me worry less for my older neighbours whom the slippery conditions are a hazard. Thank you GCLC! We highly recommend Great Canadian for any project! Chris and the team took a muddy, slanted, overgrown jungle and a ‘condemned’ deck and turned it into our dream backyard. The team was friendly, professional and skilled. Great Canadian managed everything; we loved the continuity throughout the project and not having to deal with multiple trades. Great Canadian Landscaping carried out a full backyard renovation including building a substantial gazebo and fitting a full built-in outdoor kitchen. The project was professionally managed and although delayed by the bad weather over the winter and spring was still delivered ahead of the summer and on budget. The company worked very closely with us during the design and construction process. We were so pleased with GCLC. We had a retaining wall, pavers added to walkway and a very lumpy "used to be lawn area" leveled and laid with new sod. Owner of North Vancouver based GCLC,Chris O'Donohue, works miracles. We were coming up to a long weekend. He took my call. And he didn't say "No". The 4x4 cedars holding a sidewalk and stairs in place had rotted and everything was crumbling. It was a serious danger. But, if I was going to pay the money to fix it, I wanted to deal with a 28 year old fence and gate, and make a non-productive alcove along the fence worthy of a garden. Chris made it happen. On Tuesday morning, the crew was on time and ready to work. Each had a specialty. Mark oversaw the project. When they left the yard was cleaner than it had ever been. Each member of the crew was professional, friendly, and skilled. I had 3 quotes. GCLC's quote was fair and there were no surprises on the final bill. They were responsive to a couple of minor follow up issues and questions. If I need any more work, I will call GCLC.

A first rate and totally professional company. Their hard working and knowledgeable teams show up when promised and will allow you to change small things on the fly, a really important aspect to the success of the final project. They created the designs and delivered everything that was promised...on time and on budget. Last year we had them build a pergola in our back yard complete with low voltage lighting; completely upgrade one-half of our front yard with the removal of existing plant material, adding soil, shrubs, perennials and mulch; and a low voltage tree and a very creative driveway lighting system. This year we had them remove a lawn and put in a dry creek bed along with some larger boulders, soil, shrubs and perennials and had them repair and upgrade our irrigation system. We are totally pleased with all of the projects. They are a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend them.

I had a cedar fence including gates and a retaining wall built by this company. The workers were professional and thorough and kept me informed of anything that had to be changed from the estimate. They respected my landscaping and customized the fence around my very large cedar trees. They exceeded expectations in that they moved a number of small boulders around the tree roots to make it escape proof for my small dogs. They left my yard tidy when they completed the project and actually moved some yard debris that had been there prior to their work. I have received a number of compliments on the quality of the work. The gates open and close effortlessly and the fence all around is solid and straight. I have already recommended this company to a family member.

The result- a charming patio and seating area nestled in a lush, little garden! Now we can sit and relax in privacy but still keep an eye on the kids playing out front. This was an extensive landscaping project and The Great Landscaping Company was able to deliver in all facets of the project. Great Canadian Landscaping Company completely redesigned one entire side of our property with retaining concrete and stone walls, regraded and remade the front of our property,planted a hedge of cedars of over 16ft tall, installed irrigation and lighting throughout and built and resurfaced a parking area and the driveway. Chris the owner is very hands on and very responsive, he has a great team of workers and talented craftsmen and specialists from stone workers to carpenters to irrigation and lighting and garden design . He also has a list of professional dedicated subcontractors that he was able to recruit to complete this complicated project. Great Canadian landscaping Company can also draw on its impressive fleet of trucks and various heavy equipment to ensure that all facets of a project can be completed in a timely manner no matter the scope. In the end we have a beautiful front yard that really enhances our property and we are very pleased.

The positive: We are THRILLED with the end result of our project. Overall Great Canadian Landscape did a good job. I would rate them a 3 and 1/2 stars (wasn't an option above). The construction team was amazing. All of the guys were super polite and hard working...the foreman Chris was especially helpfull and was very eager to make sure the project turned out the way we wanted it to. GCL was able to accomodate our request to have the fence painted half way through the project which was VERY much appreciated. They got started on the painting immediately (no lag time at all)! The not so positive: We were quoted on a fence that was supposed to be double sided and take one week to complete. We opted to go with a one sided fence (considerablely less material & what should have been man hours) only to be told at the end of the project it was still going to be more expensive than what was originally quoted. The job in total was closer to four weeks and after negotiation about $500 more when it was all said and done. The person that did our planting could have been a lot more friendly and could work on the PR side of their job. I did mention these complaints to GCL and they addressed our concerns immediately. We had to ask GCL back 4 or 5 times before our job was completely cleaned up. We also had to ask them to cap the top of our gate (which seemed like a given in terms of finishing work) Although we ran into some issues through out the duration of our project (all projects do) GCL was quick to resolve the issues. They are a company the cares and strives for customer satisfaction. The owner, Chris (different from the foreman) takes the time to speak to customers and truly cares about how the projects turn out.
