“The owner is polite, professional and honest. He tried very hard to give me a quote where the most could be done for the price. He did not suggest we skimp anywhere to save a few dollars. We were in agreement on the painting style and number of coats (2). He was very detail oriented and explained exactly what he felt needed to be done for the best results & why. he kept asking if I was ok with his suggestions. I know this sounds like nothing but you would not believe the number of painters who came out and told me what THEY felt would be best - no matter what I wanted- and were not polite. Thank you”

He has an acquired sense of style when it comes to assessing what colors and combinations of hues and shades will help bring life to an otherwise dull room. His keen observation in taking in the layout of the kitchen and how the colors will help bring out the best features of the wood work, is the reason why I hired him as my color consultant. His work with Farrow & Ball paint in upscaling the kitchen cabinets is remarkable. I find that the quality of Farrow & Ball paint is far superior to other paints and brings in more hue and depth to the finished work as opposed to other paints.”

“My wife and I retained Down Under Faux to do the paintwork portion of a very extensive restoration of a Stanford White-designed carriage house in upstate New York. We were delighted with the results and can't say enough good things. Muriel Norman is quite exceptional. She's an artisan in the traditional sense. Those hands work real magic. The detail work is superb. From a client's perspective you're not fighting with an ego; you're working with a partner. Words that come to mind to describe her - responsive, listens well, thoughtful, constructive, creative, punctual. Her work-rate is prodigious and she's extremely versatile, setting her talents to challenges beyond the job at hand. If you want to decorate your house in a way that makes you smile every time you turn on the light, you need Down Under Faux. But, get in line. We're hoping that Muriel can shortly work some of her magic for us in a small mews house in Marylebone, England.”
