Charles Yoo designs and builds dreams through his work at Aquatectural Design. He was a member of my family for over 120 days - spending more time in the details than necessary to make sure our vision was fully realized. I consider him a friend and an artist, not a builder. Thank you, Charles!

Our house was built in 70th with simple square back yard. We wanted to have some changes in our backyard but we had no ideas what so ever since we had met with designer from Aquatectural Design Inc. He was very reasonable with price, ideas and he knew what we needed in our backyard right away. We had a confident with his words because he was very professional and knowledge with his project. We signed our contract that has plan, date and price from beginning to the end of the project. During the construction was going, he explained step by step before goes on to next phase to make sure we satisficed with it. Also he answered our questions and explained very promptly. Most of all, he made a numerous visits to our house even after work was completed to make sure if we had any questions or problems with it. We were very lucky to work with Aquatectural Design Inc. because we are enjoying our backyard during Covid 19 with our family.

In 2000 we hired Charles Yoo of Aquatectural Design to design and install full landscaping project for our new home, that entailed: pool and spa, slide, waterfall, fire pit, b.b.q., landscape, softscape, lighting, etc. After 19 years, we called Charles to upgrade our backyard and remodel our pool. Again, Charles and his team at Aquatectural Design did a beautiful job on transforming our backyard into a extreme family get away. Charles has a great vision for design and great attention to detail. I cannot say enough good thing about my positive experience with Aquatectural Design.

We first met Charles at the very beginning of interviewing contractors for a full exterior landscape plus pool remodel on our hillside view property. Having never done a large scale remodel, we interviewed over 15 exterior contractors, designers, architects. We were impressed with his projects on Houzz, but initially hired someone else because he did not use CAD (which we thought was needed), and we thought we could save money by going with a company that had done a project similar to what we were looking to do (i.e., a hillside deck and infinity edge pool). Fast forward almost a year later with still no permit from the city, we reached agreement with our prior contractor that it was not going to work out and we went back through the list of contractors that we had interviewed and decided to work with Charles after talking to his references from his projects in our city. It wasn’t easy, but Charles got it done and our backyard project is beautiful. In the course of this process, we found: -The fact that he did not do CAD was not a problem. His drawings, done by hand, are beautiful. We plan to frame the rendering and display it. -He communicated with us in a timely manner about progress and any issues that arose. He always contacted us before making decisions on site. In fact, he was extremely responsive by text and would send us photos of the project, marked up with his comments. -He was patient with us. For example, we wanted to find the perfect pool tile to create the effect of the pool extending into the ocean view. We probably looked at 100 or more tiles, with enough samples at our house to tile half our spa. Ultimately we ended up picking a tile very similar to one he originally suggested. We have learned to trust his judgment, which he has earned. When we decided to do side gates for the yard, we trusted his recommendation to go with ipe slats. The gates look beautiful and had quality detailing. -He is cognizant of cost considerations which was important for us due to the scale of our remodel. When we told him we wanted to save money by buying a fire pit later instead of doing a custom one, he educated us on different types and actually sent us photos of sample/discounted fire pits that we were able to purchase directly from his supplier at a reasonable price. -He was on site seemingly every day of work and personally handled communicating with other trades. He always knew what was going on with our project and didn’t have to ask anyone else. When friends and family ask us about contractors, we enthusiastically refer Charles. We would use Charles again on our future projects.

I am very happy that I worked with Charles at Aquatectural Design. Charles is very professional, you can tell he loves what he does, he is very experienced, thorough, and detailed with his work. He does things right every step of the way, I could not be happier with the end result. I initially explained to him my vision for doing a shallow pebble pond in my backyard, he understood exactly what I wanted, and was able to provide recommendations and ideas that support the vision. He provided me with a drawing of the work with all the details and measurements before he started the work. He is very artistic as well, he has appreciation for details and was patient with the final touches of the project. It was nice to be able to get his opinion on the materials and colors we were choosing. He totally understood the esthetic and quality I was trying to achieve with the project and he made an effort to get the right quality material. He even added a few touches on the backyard, and took the time to look at the landscape and make sure the watering system is working properly. The process went very smoothly with ease. I have a beautiful 35ft long pebble pond, with two fountains and a small waterfall, it added a lot of beauty and serenity to the outdoor area. Charles Yoo in Aquatectural Design is the very professional, reliable,and trustworthy . I have bought the brand new home in Irvine, Orange county. First, I met Charles as the landscaper and pool builder. on the first meeting with him, I'm so impressive. So I decided to work with him for almost everything in my new home. front yard, backyard, garage, interior .... I was right. Thanks for Charles, now I have the house with the fantastic, elegant yard. He has listened very carefully what I want and made a plan & design, and made my dream a reality. He is very professional and responsible person. On construction, he came to my home everyday, and checked everything. His team showed up early morning with him and at the end of the work day. Of course, after work, my yard left clean. My family and guest really enjoy the fantastic back yard with beautiful pool. Now I can believe him like one of the family of mine. With having 20 plus years experience in new construction and currently including the past 28 years as HOA President of my community in Rancho Santa Margarita, Charlie came to me highly recommended and a great referral. Not only did he design my new spa added to my existing pool along with all the new hardscape/landscape including the low voltage lighting in my back yard but also designed my front yard as well with great ideas that will work with the concept of low maintenance and major saving on my water bill regarding the irrigation. I hired Charles Yoo to complete a backyard installation at my Huntington Beach home. The initial project design, completed by another landscape architect, had great features but was not coordinated with zoning and the scale was too large for the available space. Charles corrected these omissions, developed a new design and effectively overcame many obstacles in accomplishing my project. He showed unusual resourcefulness and ingenuity and he kept me informed of changes and why such were necessary. Charles showed a high level of craftsmanship and I am pleased to recommend him.

After I re-designed the backyard landscaping for one of my long-time amazing clients, which included a complete make-over of their existing pool, I had the pleasure of meeting Charles; as he was the general contractor selected by my client to execute my design.
