Saul is a miracle worker! My red leather chair had faded to a colorless gray. He completely restored it to its original deep oxblood red. In fact, I thinks its more beautiful now than when I bought it new. In addition, Saul couldn't be a more genial person to have in your home.
5.0 star rating 11/28/2017 Saul is nothing short of a miracle worker. We love our white leather sofa but over the past few years, the sofa because damaged and stained and looked very used and with guests coming for the holidays, we searched quickly to find a new sofa. No matter how hard I looked, I could not find the size and shape we were looking for and in my desperation, googled, leather sofa restoration. Fibrenew came up and when I saw the 5 star reviews and the before and after pictures, I could hardly believe them. I contacted Saul and after looking at some of my sofa pictures, he quoted me a reasonable fee for restoring my sofa. I thought it was worth a try since it was much cheaper than buying a new sofa, and I would get to keep the one I love. Saul is a delightful person and explained what he was doing. He comes to your house, so that you don't have the inconvenience of moving the sofa out of the home. After 6 hours of hard work, he called for me to come look. I could not believe it was my sofa. The color he used to fill in cracks and damage was spot on and although he uses a disclaimer to say he can make it look better, but it won't look like new....Well, he is wrong...He made it look better than new. I sent pictures to my sons and friends, and all those who know my sofa could not imagine that this is possible. All I can say, is if you have leather furniture that you love so much that its showing wear and tear, but you don't want to buy new, then contact Saul. He is an engineer by trade and has a meticulous eye for matching color and repairing damage. The sofa looks so new, that now I will have him come back to fix up leather chairs since they are looking shabby next to the gleaming sofa. Thank you, Saul.
A couple of tears opened up on the back of my chocolate leather Chesterfield and I remembered reading NY Magazine's strong recommendation of Saul and Fibrenew a few days earlier. He came, saw, and conquered those rips with very effective under-patching. First-class, efficient service and a helluva nice guy. Highly recommend.
I had such a great experience with this company. They do something that's hard to find. They repair and redye leather furniture rather than spending a fortune reupholstering it. I used their Manhattan branch which is basically a one-man operation--he comes to give you an estimate and then he's the one who does the repair. He was a real craftsman--very experienced and "old school." He was also honest about which of my pieces it would be worth the price to fix, and he's an expert on the different kinds of leather and what you can and cannot do. He actually told me that the loveseat I bought ages ago at Crate & Barrel I should just give up on. But he made my Eames lounge chair look amazing. He erased my cat's many scratches and even touched up some chips in the wood. I doubt he's the cheapest, but his price was fair and the work was meticulous. It cost far far less than reupholstering or replacing. Just to be clear: I can't give an opinion about all of their branches, but the guy in Manhattan is awesome!
I had a tear in the leather seat of a high-end designer chair. I looked into buying leather to replace the upholstery on the two identical chairs but the cost of the leather, alone, was prohibitive. I found Saul and Fibrenew on line and reached out to see if he could accommodate my request for a quick turn repair. He could and he did and I'm extremely pleased with the results in the before and after photos attached. His rates are very affordable and he saved me the cost and aggravation of having the chairs reupholstered or replaced. Saul was wonderful to deal with and is an expert in his craft. I highly recommend him.
Saul was professional, prompt, and neat! His work was fabulous. I can't tell there was a tear. I would use him again!
I recently relocated from TX to NY and my moving company (Atlas) broke my leather couch straps my mom had custom made in the 70's. I was totally distraught. They didn't offer much for repairs and the 'big name' repair places were ridiculously expensive and I didn't even trust they could fix a unique piece that was sentimental to me. Lots of couch repair internet research led me to Saul. Saul was super professional, always on time, and very communicative. He was able to take the monies Atlas gave me and repair the straps, condition and fix minor tears. It looked AMAZING when he finished....better than when I arrived. I couldn't be more happy with his work!
