Does anything special need to be done to the ceiling for this fixture? We are thinking about installing this. Also, is there any magic number as far as distance between the shower and ones head?

Thanks for your question. Please send us a message so we may respond with a booklet indicating how the unit mounts. There really is no magic number for the distance, just keep in mind that the further away the head is, the colder the water will feel when it hits the user.
