Good to know, thank you and I'm hoping to find this special quartzite somewhere in western Canada. Does quartzite need sealing? Is it easy to clean grease off of it, being that it's behind the stovetop?

It is always good to reseal natural stones in any installation to maintain their beauty! For cleaning it is suggested to use a mild dish soap such as Dawn; mixed with 4 parts water to 1 part Dawn.
