Baby to big girl room! Help!

Hello! I am looking to update my little girls room to a little big girls room! She is just over three and has never tried to get out of her crib but it is time for a big girl room and bed... :(
So....her furniture will stay (minus the crib). I am thinking a daybed. Maybe grey velvet ( restoration hardware) or St. Andrews ( one Kings lane) but I am open to other suggestions. I want to paint, wallpaper or stencil the top part of the wall. Ideas, furniture placement, window coverings (?) thanks for your help!

This room is adorable. I'm sure you'll find some inspiring rooms on Houzz. Just to note that it is time to move the breakable objects away from kid-reach, including climbing up to get things off the shelves. Move shelves to where a child can get to them easily, or remove them until she is past the climbing stage.

Thank you. I have the furniture secured to the wall and will be sure to not have anything she or my 9 month old can get into. Do you like wallpaper on top or a suttle stencil pattern on the top?

Wall paper is fun. If you pick something non-babyish, it may be fine for another five years. IME, kids like to make dramatic changes at age 7-10 and again at 13 or 14.

I would not choose velvet as a cover for anything in a childs room as I can tell you from experience eventually a marker or crayon will make its way to that piece. Wallpaper is fun but I like hand painted walls in a child's room and let them choose what they would like within reason like from a story book they love and I agree this will be changed in about 5 years and again at about 12 .
