Very few will focus on vegetable gardening in particular. If you want something that specific, you're better off looking for newsletters from Extension services which many have. It's hard enough to sell a good gardening magazine much less one so specific when less than 10 percent of all gardeners are vegetable gardeners.

One that always has interesting, in depth articles on vegetables is The Heirloom Gardener.

You have more options if you're willing to subscribe to magazines from other countries. But not all will mail overseas. There are also trade publications for commercial farmers. You might look for blogs that focus on vegetable gardening - there are some fantastic ones out there.

Those Brit ones, Lets Grow Veg and Kitchen Garden look interesting don't they? One year we subscribed to a UK farm magazine called Practical Farm Ideas which was really well written and interesting but we didn't keep it up since it didn't really apply to our type of farming in our area. But it was fun to read and wasn't full of ads for expensive equipment and chemicals like most American farm magazines. Most American farm magazines are not written in literary fashion either such as PFI was.

being a brit and being a subscriber of grow your own magazine and having read kitchen garden on several occeassions i can reccommend both of these magazines. Lets Grow Veg is basically a new spin off version from grow your own magazine. I have not yet read this new spin off but if its as good as its mother magazine it will be a good read. Unfortuantely with all our magazines in this country advertising is a big part of them and there is no avoiding it. However there is some very in depth pages especially in kitchen garden.

Mother Earth News is still pretty good source of information about vegetable gardening and the like if you can get past their leftist politics which permeates many articles.
