I have done well with eggplant the last 5 or 6 years, This year is Not the same.

I am no expert, I just try and see what happens the learn from my success or failure! This year I am about 50/50 Plants in one area are great, good height, blooms but no fruit as of yet. In another area, they are much smaller such as yours.

I have had luck in both areas before (These are in rotated beds, different areas of yard)

If it was not for my having a mix of large and small, I would just blame it on our later warming as eggplant do not do well til they get warm. The funny thing is that the eggplant that is smaller are in beds that get much more sun than the ones that are taller. I was at first blaming sunlight amounts, but that does not seem to be the problem. So I do not have an answer can only add to the confusion!

mine took forever to take off and I found out my was they needed fertilizer! I'm new to gardening so not much help but I know now that container gardens need more fertilizer than others. Good luck!

It was a cool spring here. My eggplants haven't really started growing until the past week or two, and they have been out nearly a couple months. They don't seem to grow if it isn't hot.

What kind of potting mix did you plant in? And how often are you watering? To me it looks like the mix is being kept too wet.

Agreed - too wet and likely lacking nutrients such as nitrogen. I would give them some balanced fertilizer.

5 gallons is a small container for an eggplant too.. 10 gallons or bigger would be ideal.

thank you all for your help, thefoegottenone : yes i think i was over watering , the soil is good mix but my fault is watering them everyday with too much water.slimy_okra: i do fertilize them with balanced fertilizer and i used some epsom salt too(just once so far). i will reduce the watering amount and will see. will post more pictures if it became better in the futer.
but anyone can tell me if it will give me any fruit in the futer before the fall
