Flooding at the Farm

It is very noisy and dramatic here these days. I took a few photos this morning, but with the high winds they are not too sharp. They give an idea though....

Here's the first look from the upstairs bathroom window.

Looking to the right you see my "garden" in the flats submerged. Notice the current!

Our skinny little creek looks like this today on one side of the bridge

and like this on the other side:

Looking towards the house.

Walking farther along the trail it became very windy and the photos became fuzzier.

The trail ended in the water....and the small new trees we planted are either underneath or floating away. Our property ends at the two large trees you see at the right.

The rabbits have been munching there.

It's hard to believe I mow a trail here much of the year and that Harvey and Trevor from next door plant the field here as well.

On my way back I could see the creek was even higher up the bridge footings. The bridge is mighty strong. Cement mixers can cross it even though it certainly looks rustic. Not much use UNDER water though...

Here's the fire pit as viewed on my way back indoors. Guess we won't be burning for a while yet....

And then it may flood again in February.
