What is this burgandy leafed plant? Thanks for the help!

It's a Geranium. Maybe G macrorrhizum. It doesn't go burgundy in my climate but maybe it would in yours.

I added a close up of some leaves. Would Geranium survive outside in a cold climate?

Yes, perennial geraniums survive outside. Perhaps you are thinking of pelargoniums which are commonly called geraniums.

Absolutely - many Geraniums are extremely tough and very hardy. It is Pelargoniums which are tender and frequently called 'Geraniums' in common parlance. Did you check out G macrorrhizum? It is hardy z3 - 8. Rub some foliage and sniff - you'll get than Geranium pong.

Mine are starting to flower now so yours should be coming along soon.
