You have a jade plant, which is a type of succulent.

It would be much happier in a potting mix which dries out more quickly, rather than retaining water. So you want something with much more perlite (the white lumps in the pot), and as little peat moss as possible. Talk to the folks on GW's Cacti & Succulent forum for more info on repotting it.

I can see that your plant's leaves are a bit dehydrated, but watering it more in its current planting mix is not a good idea.

i water mine.. about once a month ... and its bone dry about 28 days ..

if you water too much.. you rot the roots off ... and then you water more.. because it looks like its shriveling ...

you can generate plants by planting leaves.. whats that all about.. lol ...

have fun with it... its one of the best.. because you never have to water it ... lol .. my kind of care level... lol ..
