This is one of a choice group of New World shrubs belonging to the Tea Family. A Coastal Plain native from Virginia and south. I took this pic today, in 19th century Audubon could name it, can you?

Wow, I love seeing the painting and then a picture of the real thing. Audubon did a good job but nothing compares to the real thing.
