I saw your post in the gallery. I think you have the rose mislabeled.
Mme Lauriol de Barny is a solid color. It is also a more vibrant shade of pink.

I can relate, Susan. I mix up names too. Once I called the very famous SC rosarian Ruth Knopf, "Ruth Stout" repeatedly. Sometimes dumb just oozes out of me. :( Gean

Would it be stupid of me if I asked what 'plonk' means in this context? I only know of the british slang use of the word for poor quality cheap wine. Beautiful flowers btw

I believe the term "plonk" is a corruption of the verb "plonk," to set something down w/o ceremony. In Susan's context, the word is used as a noun, as an informal arrangement of flowers, set down w/o ceremony.
