Northern Accents Ole Rose - Picture

Thought I share a pic and info on Northern Accents Ole Rose.

In its first year, its bloomed in 3 flushes with very very sporadic blooms. But when the flushes take place, they are rocking. They bloom in clusters for a spectacular effect.

They've kept a fairly compact uniform shape, with only the occasional wild cane.

Foiage is a matte dark green. Haven't noticed any problems with the exception of aphids all over the newly forming buds, took care of that with a bayer insect killer.

Buds start out pink and flowers go white with a pink hue.

It's lovely. Do you have to pick off the dead blooms, or do they fall off by themselves?

Flowers drop off pretty cleanly. I do deadhead the roses.

Its funny because the ONLY nursery I could find them at in the spring ended up telling me recently that they weren't happy with them. Guess they like to be in the ground!

These are zone 4 shrub roses.

That is a really lovely rose, not just the flowers but the bush as a whole. When I have aphids I just squash them with my fingers or knock them off with a strong spray from the garden hose. Cheaper, and better for the environment. After a while the bugs and the birds find and eat them, but I dislike them so much that I get rid of them as soon as I see them.
