Look who came to visit!

A big desert toad has been luxuriating in the lush and protected area under my AC drip. There's a huge rubber-tree plant and a creeping fig there and, lately, it's been so humid the drip is going almost constantly.

This morning I went outside to fill the bird bath and nearly stepped on this little fellow, who seemed hypnotized by the porch light. I guess my toad has been busy!! :-)

my dogs can't get out to that area so they had to content themselves with whining obnoxiously from behind the security door the whole time I was trying to take the photo. . . They don't care HOW poisonous he was - he was hopping around on THEIR property!!!

Fun! Thanks for sharing the story and the pic. I'm glad you added the quarter too for size. Great job!

I haven't noticed any toads, but I've got a huge crop of baby lizards over the last week, so cute, although the cactus wrens and road runners are thinning the herd, LOL.

Grant we are finding a ton of baby lizards this month too! Unfortunately they are enjoying eating my vegetable seedlings. Still cute though :)

What a cutie and fun find! :) I love it when we start seeing the toads. we put out broken terra cotta pots for them to hide under. :)

I have pics of a few of our summer visitors, toads, birds and moths. ;)

We are finding the little lizzards this past week or so too. They can be startling.. they darn things look like little scorpions. lol!

are you sure it's the lizzards eating the seedlings?? I've never heard of them eating plants, just bugs.

lately my lizards have gone somewhere and am having lot of trouble with mosquitos. The lil guy should help you solve the problem of some sucking critters

LOL @ JoJo, too funny. I've got a TON of baby lizards over the last few weeks too and keep thinking they're really fast scorpions too, heh heh. Glad I'm not the only one.
