I really do not know very much about cacti, but it's stems are reminiscent of a Disocactus speciosus that I have, although darker, which does have read flowers. A picture of the whole plant would also be helpful.

Does it look anything like these?...

It's a Epiphyllum Hybrid of some sort and not a species. Lots of hybrids out there so you would have to do some extra digging for a name. An open bloom would help identifying the plant but only to a person who has a lot of knowledge about these plants.
