You can plant your Stragazers. Lilies are great because they can take the cold temps that might come again and they can survive the frost too. I would just double check that your ground is thawed enough. I know Barrie always lags behind us in Brampton.

If the ground is still frozen, they tyou can always pot them up in soilless mix.

Many of my oriental lillies have broken ground these past 2 weeks. Go ahead and plant them. They are sooooo easy to grow. In Montreal, QC, my orientals only bloom mid to late summer. Although they much prefer asiatics, beware of the little red lily beatle, they will distroy the folliage in no time. If you see one, get rid of it however you like, but get rid of it. Allowing the folliage to "ripen" and turn yellow is essential for healthy bulbs next year.

from vesseys? I just got mine (other kinds of lilies) last week and as they instructed, I planted mine and mulched them up a bit.

I haven't planted my lilies which I had purchased from Canada Blooms. These ones were aclimatized indoors for a while and to put them out now would shock them. So instead, I'm just hardening them off on the porch and will set them inground in a week or 2.

Thanks to all of you for the advice - as soon as it stops raining - I'll get them planted! I have seen the beetles already around my frittalarias so have been on the alert.
Ianna - I got them from Botanus - first time I have ordered from them and the bulbs are lovely and big with nice sprouts already. They had a really good deal - $13.97 for a pkg of 10 and then 2 free Asiatic "Brunello" and a "Honeybells" hosta. Judy
