That looks much better. I would selectively prune as it grows to keep it from forming a large box again, and also mulch around the base but not too close to the trunk.

Oh I see them about every 3 months. They get out to the street and run up and down sometimes. If I were home all day I expect I would see them more often. They are so cool.
A few years my waterfall/pond was dry and one flew in there. Couple minutes late a small bird like a sparrow flew towards the grapevine to eat. The RR came out of pond like a rocket and snatched it. Then it ran to other side of yard to pluck it and then ate it whole. Here's some pics that day, look closely to find the feathers were plucked:
