this cypress eates also your house unless you find a 3 m empty circle in the garden. Beautiful, the colour comes from the millions of small resin drops. Thats why its so hardy. I agree.

Cupressus bakeri Silver Fern
This is a masterpiece of Hodi Toth, Father of the Semidesert conifers. Broad conical habit, growing as usual. Bark in youth gray,
smooth, later gray-brown, cracked .Young sprouts twist and turn, later straight, fern-like. Blueish-silverly foliage, little cones, smooth, globulous, like a C. macnabiana. Drought tolerant, hardy. (at me in Z5-6 in a frosty valley)

Cupressus bakeri Silver King
Selected of american seeds by Hodi Toth, my semidesert friend. Narrow, regular conical habit, fast growing. Leader stem and young sprouts twist and turn wherever from third year straight. Cones big, rough because of channels of resin, fertile in youth of plant . Bark in youth gray, later deep brown striped.gray. Drought tolerant and full hardy.
This is the only cypress I was able to keep alive in my pinetum, which is in a frosty valley. Surprisingly not the January -28 C, but the April -5 kills them, but not this.
