The bottom of the pots are material. The star one is from the quilting section at Walmart :-)

The spider is actually a dog bandana, but the material is nylon or something and isn't really the best for decoupage. But good to know for furture reference.

Hi Sugi,

To make it easy, you can set a plastic pot inside, but I used pottery sealer, inside and out. I left the bottom seal free so the water would drain. If you don't seal your pot, the moisture will loosen the material and/or make the paint peel.

A clay pot of course. New or cleaned very well.

Sand paper to smooth out rough spots.

Newspaper and poster board to make a template for material. You can skip this, but I found it much easier to do it this way and the end result has less creases than other methods I saw online.

Material of your choice, try to find some thin cottony kind, like I said quilt squares are good.

Patio paint or some craft paint for outside. I also used those "Painters pens" from Walmart and plain acrylic paint for some of the drawing. These will have to be sealed if used.

Templates if you can't draw like me. Or you can just leave the rims painted or plain--your choice.

I used Decoupage for outdoors--couldn't find it locally so I ordered it from Amazon. I think this will seal your pot, but I also have other final sealer. I haven't done anything to the rims yet.

Various paint brushes, foam brushes and spongers.
