Wooly aphids on Dicksonia

I have either wooly aphids or mealy bugs on my Dicksonia.

I was thinking to cut about half to 2/3 of the fronds off, then spray with a light soap solution.

But I'm worried- are ferns too fragile for the soap? Seems they may be, and I have no ideas what else to use, as this is a houseplant which I don't want anything more toxic sprayed indoors.
