Warm evenings at dusk really bring out the scent. I love this color of 4 O'clock! But you really must go out and smell them - especially on headdy, humid nights here their perfume wafts and I love it!

There is no fragrance like that of the Four O'Clock.
I cannot find the old-fashioned ones, that had multiple colors all on one bush - pinks, oranges, reds, yellows, lavenders and swirled colors like yours. And the old-fashioned one had the strongest fragrance. If I find some growing near and old homesite I am getting a start or seeds.

My bright pink hasn't begun to bloom yet.

Another scented plant I haven't grown for quite awhile but now on my list for next year along with the tall white flowering Nicotiana sylvestris, love these scented plants. 4 O' Clocks aren't hardy for me but their tubers can be dug and stored for the winter. Annie's right yours is a beauty.

I just love to come here and get inspired again. Your 4 O'clock is so pretty and now I want to try again. I've had a hard time with germination also and had given up. I had forgotten that they were so fragrant. Thanks so much for this reminder. Punk

An Ozark gardening friend told me hers will self seed, so I am thinking maybe I planted my too deeply at first. I think I soaked the seeds overnight this time before planting.
