It's been so warm down here this winter I've had a few blooms on the Rudbeckia and Echinacea. No hard freezes. At this point, with so much budding out, I hope that danger is past.

Crocus are just starting to push through, snowdrops are showing white but nothing fully open yet and the hellebores are about to bloom in a week or so. Yesterday it was 50* here, really warm for this time of year, does this mean we might actually get a spring this year?

Yep, my snowdrops are actually blooming! Not all, but a few bunches. Right now it's 55 degrees.

We are having mild weather also.
A tad of each, roses, yellow bearded iris,cemetery white iris, yarrow, gerbera daisy, african daisy and for several weeks one colmbine. My Brugmansias are leafing out.

This happened a couple years ago and we got a killing freeze in mid Feb.

Here in TX the old timers say that once the mesquite tress leaf out, we won't have another killing freeze. Hmmmm at my age, I quess I am one of the old timers. lol.
I guess I need to drive through the neighborhood and check.

Same here in Okie. The mildest winter ever recorded.
Things that normally don't emerge until mid-to-late March or early April, are already up. Buds on all my flowering trees and shrubs are swelling fast.
Even a pot of Petunias that I left out this Fall did not get killed back - still green with no mulch protection whatsoever!
There is new green growth at the base of all my Hydrangeas and other perennials. The Hollyhocks made new green growth in late December and are still growing!
This week, we finally got some good rain and the dormant daylilies are up and green - about 6 inches tall already. WAY early!
For the past two weeks, the Peeper frogs have been serenading us every morning and every evening. They are harbingers of Spring. Never hear them singing and courting until late March.
The Jonquils and Paperwhites have flower buds and some are about to open.
The Oregon Grapes are in full bloom and buzzing with honeybees.
Very strange winter indeed.
