That is definitely not a citrus. I have yet to figure out what it is. Here is southern California they are EVERYWHERE. They are the standard tree that are put in by builders and landscapers. In my opinion they grow up to be very ugly trees. I have seen one that was a pretty tree (owned by my next door neighbor) but they spent a TON of money on their gardener.

I've looked at lots of pictures of fruit and nut trees and haven't found anything that resembles this. I'll keep searching. Thanks for the reply.

It is not grown for its fruit or nuts. It is purely an ornamental and a lot of gardeners spray the trees with something so that they dont prouduce fruit because they make a huge mess and stain concrete.

Pittosporum.

I believe that Pittosporum is the one called Mock Orange.

It slightly resembles a citrus if you look at the end of a branch that has leaves and flowers. There are some varieties that stay low and some that grow into a bush that gets 10' tall, perhaps more.

They are common in SoCal as they are easily grown near the beach and in hot/dry conditions. Home Owner Associations love them because they are hard to kill with the incompetent gardeners that most of them hire based on low cost. They look reasonable from a distance. The seeds are messy, sticky, and stain concrete so keep them away from sidewalks and patios.
