Beautybush deer resistance

I've come across this shrub, Kolkwitzia amabilis, on a list as being very deer resistant. I don't see it planted in this area at all. Although we may be too warm here for it, I'm always looking to broaden the pallet. Just curious if anyone has experience with it around deer.

It is a native here in the coastal southeast. Grows happily under the dappled shade of Live oaks. Have never seen any deer damage. Should grow well in your area.

Thanks, but you're talking about Beautyberry. Beautybush is an entirely different plant.
