I found this info by accident. I wanted to know what conifers grow in the southern third of Sweden.

"I wanted to know what conifers grow in the southern third of Sweden"

The native ones are Norway Spruce, Scots Pine, Common Juniper, and European Yew. Numerous others cultivated of course.

Surprised no Larix are native to Sweden.

The large genetic variability of NS is something our own Spruceman often has mentioned.

"Surprised no Larix are native to Sweden"

Larches are less good at seed dispersal than spruces; after Sweden's icecap melted at the end of the last ice age, larch hasn't been able to recolonise from either the south (European Larch) or the east (Siberian Larch). No doubt larches would have got back there naturally within the next few millenia if it hadn't been for human interference first.

They'll probably work up quite an appetite along the way. A Danish or two should hit the spot.

...or some Belgian Waffles, but that might add pounds and they'd not get off Scot free.

Thank you, Resin for the list of the native conifers.

You other guys, I enjoy your playing with words.

Sweden has a holiday devoted to the waffle, maybe we all should celebrate.

Don't forget the syrup, some like it Swede. Although I'm not sure if this banter is germane to the Swedish P. abies study.
