Tomatoes planted next to compost pile

Last summer I went to a composting workshop and I won one of those black plastic bins that roll up. Well, I have been less than successful with the composting because the more I add the more it disappears. I know I should rotate compost piles, but I don't have any room for another one.

Anyway, I ran out of money after buying tons of large containers and potting soil for my veggies so I planted several tomatoes up against the compost pile. They are doing so well! No disease or insect problems at all. Very healthy. I also saw an actual earthworm when I dug the planting holes. I think the roots of the tomato may have grown under the pile and are sucking up that good compost juice. No nematodes yet.
