I suppose you could, but the fruits are borne in the first 6 -12 inches of the vine. It is the leaves and thier stems that take up the space. It does not seem worthwhile to me.

I just planted both yellow bush scallops and cocozelle marrows (supposedly also the bush variety) and the plants, so far, seem to be acting like vines along the ground. Will this change, or does it seem like I was sent the wrong seed?!

I had never planted them before but this year I am growing some white ones. I planted the seeds outside. Now they have about 4 -6 true leaves. But morning low temperatures are still not quite warm (low to mid 40s) The forecast calls for low 50s next week. Then they will take off (I hope).
Like mentioned in previous posts, these are bush type and so don't need a lot of space to run.
