What's the name of the flower, Jill, that was so popular with our honey making friends? You are fortunate to have honeybees. I only have bumble bees that I saw on my flowers most of the time last year.

i knew someone was going to ask me this...

.....took me a little while....but dug out the info...

it is Eranthis hyemalis.....a spring flowering bulb...

and the honeybees DO love it....and we do have the cute bumbles here also....i don't like the pesky wasps though...

Just saw my first bumble bee today,buzzing around some pear tree cuttings I am rooting. Thanks for posting the pix !I hope we will have enough bees in the years to come, sad to hear about how many honey farmers hives have been stolen out west. Can you imagine being in jail for bee-napping? Bet those guys they did catch ,will be teased. I hope its a deterrent to others w/ the same idea.

Are those bees "Mason Bees"? A wild bee rather than a honey bees. They are great pollenators :)
