crimini mushrooms

I probably spelled it wrong, but I've seen photos of these little mushrooms that grow in clusters. And this morning, when I moved the hose, there was a tangled little bunch of crimini (?) with a snail happily munching away.
Do these mushrooms grow wild down here - providing the elements are all favorable, of course. I don't think I've ever seen an edible mushroom growing wild in Florida.
Your comments, please.
