I am headed down to Iowa today for it. There are 5 gardens in the tour with an auction at the last stop. The gardens are located in the Grinnell area which is in Central Iowa. I am meeting two cousins down there who are hostaholics as well. I am very excited as I have never done a garden tour before. Vicky

I just got back from the garden tours and auction in Iowa. It was a lot of fun. The gardens were beautiful. The people were all very friendly and welcoming. The auction had over 120 hostas that people had donated to the society. One hosta went for $200. It was a seedling and I am sorry but I can't remember much more about it. There were two Sally and Bobs that went for over $100 each. The high bids were mostly for seedling and different hybrid crossings. I ended up winning 4 plants and my cousin shared some of his divisions with me as well.

The auction was fun as always. Gardens were superb!
The hosta, I think got the highest bid was 'Frost Giant' streak and then probably the hosta seedlings were the next highest. Glad you were able to get a few hostas from the auction!

I visited all the gardens, but didn't get to stay for the auction. The gardens were lovely, someone should post more photos. I forgot to take my camera with me. We had to leave as we had my friend's three year old with us and we figured she would be a distraction from all the festivities. But it was a beautiful day with really lovely gardens.
