If you're talking about the one on the left, it looks just like some of the weeds I just pulled but I'd wait to hear back from others on their opinion

I'm pretty sure it's a Hosta. It's got parallel veins so that means it's a monocot like all Hosta. It's got a little bit of red at the base of the petioles. You can keep it if you like, move it elsewhere and watch it, or toss it on the compost pile as you wish.

The definition of a weed is "any plant that is growing in the wrong place." So it's only a weed if you don't want it to grow in your garden.

I vote weed...we have these in our lawn and beds. Much more fragile than a hosta, and it eventually flowers. Of course, there are tons of look alikes in the plant world, but I'm pretty sure it's the same.

I'll disagree with Steve. While it may be a monocot, I'm not aware of any hosta showing the kind of leaf edge that weed has. As said, it's only a weed if you don't want it where it is though. Personally, I'd yank it, but, it's your weed....

ps: i still irritates the ehck out of me.. to see hosta labels with the word plantain on it.. that word in said use.. went out of vogue.. about 100 years ago ...HOSTA ARE NOT PLANTAIN LILIES ... neither plantain.. nor a lily ... just get some new labels printed.. you wholesale morons...

BTW.. its upside.. is that its one of the lawn weeds that the rabbits prefer.. over hosta ...

I vote weed.also. Hostas don't have serrated leaves.as that plant has. The only one I know of is Ginsu Knife,and is variegated. I have these plantains all over my yard. Phil
