Hosta in New Mexico

Hello again. I was on vacation in New Mexico part of last week and the week before. I love the southwest so much, but the last thing I never thought I'd see growing there was hosta! You can imagine my surprise when I came across some in a courtyard garden at the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe. Note the chile ristra hanging directly above!

Did you see any Georgia O'Keefe paintings?

Moccasin, there was a show there with several of her paintings. We have a NM Museum Foundation membership, so we always visit lots of museums while in town. We've been to the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe before, and there is a fabulous restaurant at that museum as well. This trip we drove up to Abiquiu and went on a tour of Georgia O'Keeffe's home there. That was amazing and I would highly recommend it if you are ever in that area! We drove out to Ghost Ranch as well, which is where she spent her summers painting. The landscape is breathtaking and you can totally appreciate her source of inspiration. I did not realize she was so close to reaching 100 years of age! She was born in 1887 and passed away in 1986. Her work if truly spectacular.
