January thaw. Mulch them now before cold sets in again. (our garlic showed shoots 2 days ago, way too early; so we mulched 'em.)

We're still covered in snow here, so can't tell if my crocus are popping thru the ground.

Many years my crocuses, daffs and reticulated irises are showing while it's still quite cold, and it doesn't seem to harm the plants, though occasionally those exposed tips look a trifle pale compared to the rest of the plant in spring. I would think Carol's suggestion of mulch would cure that.
