Jackie they are beautiful! The same thing happened to me, I just got 1 nice bouquet yesterday and that was it.

Hi Andrea! Thanks. It was unbelievable. When we left I had buds on all my roses and peonies (I had had buds for like 2-3 weeks!) and they finally decided to open while we were gone. When we came up the drive my jaw just hit the ground.
You need to stop over soon or all the roses will be done too!

I am new to the midwest and very much enjoying my new husband's peonies - but I too went away for a couple of days and a thunderstorm took most of the blooms. We have only 6-8 plants, I guess, about 10 ft worth and I would like to plant all around the foundation. Is fall the right time? Any hints on how, or exotic but easy to grow types? Should I just do a couple a year and see how they fill in?

Hi Teresa. I've been buying mine from Gilbert H. Wild. I buy a few every year. I'm amazed at how big they get and how quickly! The ones from Wild's are very pretty and for the most part under $10. Most of the ones I've purchased from them had a few blooms the following year and then really took off after that.
Fall is the best time to plant and that's when they'll ship them out to you.

Beautiful. I just cut a fresh bouquet early this morning, have to wait until the buggies crawl out before bringing it in.

Gilbert H. Wild is having another sale and I am leaning towards ordering some additional daylilies, lilies and a few peonies. Currently, all I have are Sarah Bernhard(5) You have a deeper pink with a yellow center; can you ID it for me and I love those which have a delicious scent. Which is your favorite among your collection? BTW, your peonies are very pretty!
