I think grey will give it a good contrast. What a beautiful fabric!

Darker gray as the body of the fabric with a banding (5") of taupe(use of one the colors in the valance). that would pull all the colors together. And it might be a good idea to make some chair cushions for your dining room chairs to pull the colors together and make it totally custom look.

Well here is something to think about, the more gold color will give your room a little more warmer feel then a gray will. I personally like the gray, it will give it a nice contrast and pull out the great design in the fabric.

Check out "Buckskin Pony" from Home Depot. It's a very warm color and may work with the valance gold. Don't stop the paint color if it "chops" the two rooms. If there is a natural break, then ok.

I kind of like the dark mustard (bottom) of the paint chip you have...

Love the fabric! Go with gray - it will contrast nicely with the amber in your counters, and will look great with your hardwood floors.

How about a warm grey like BM Pale Oak? It would accentuate both the gold and grey in your granite and cornice, without reading "builder beige."

I think it works, but it would look great with a greyish blue ceiling!
