Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa) Cuttings

I've read that you can propagate these from root cuttings, but I don't want to risk my plants by messing with their roots. My seed came up last year and so far are mostly blooming orange, but the ones that are red, yellow, etc. I want to propagate by cuttings. I can tell some of them are different because the leaves and buds are slightly different. If I have success rooting these, I'll post what worked for me.

can use stem cuttings using a 0.1% IBA (Rooting hormone) satuck in well rdrained soil & mist takes 20-40 days to root

I'm interested to know if this works. I only have the orange and want others.. so if I can buy 1 plant and propagate, that would be great. Otherwise I think the seeds are fairly easy to start, but that takes a whole year since you have to wait for the seeds, wait for them to germ and all that. EM.. you get this to work and I might be hitting you up for some cuttings ;)

echinaceamaniac, did you get your butterflyweed cuttings to root? If you root cuttings can you maybe send me small ones? I have tried growing Butterflyweed from seed but I have no luck.
