Help with Awning Dilemma!!

Hello,

So when I look at my house now and look at the very top sliding door it feels empty.

I really want to build some sort of a small awning only coming out from the wall 2-3ft Max only around 12-18in in high and either covering the entire deck or just the door. I cant make up my mind.

I have attached a few pics of the house from a distance then of the deck up close.

The overall form of the house is quite complex that adding more details would make it look busier. One option for awning is to have supports on the side of the house so the roof doesn't need to be modified.

You know i was looking at that same picture today and was thinking the same thing.
I just want to beable to build this thing myself. I was thinking a fabric one maybe from Lowes for like 400bucks

A door awning would work over your slider door. It has a 12" Drop , 7" Valance and a 40" Projection. They are custom made to any width you need. The Sunbrella Fabric is available in over 100 colors and the awning is warranted for 10 years. Here's a photo to get an idea of what an awning would look like over your door.
