You will have to coordinate it into the color scheme. Pick a wall color that goes with it, if you work against it, it will stand out more.

If you like wallpaper, or have a shower curtain or window, pick something with the green in it. It doens't have to be a lot of that color, just enough to pick it up.

I didn't see your post, I just b****ed about avocado tubs. Maybe the acryllic tub covers don't cost too much.

Acrylic tub covers do not cost a great deal but according to a lot of people they have a lot of potential problems. Water and mold in between the old tub and the cover for example.

I really like the idea of painting the bathroom to go with the tub. I am not really sure which color would go well though. I have cream colored tile and green spots behind the tub that looks nice and cream tile on the floor that looks marbled with brown and hints of green.
What color would you suggest? Maybe a brown?

Maybe this is just stupid, but hang a nice white bath rug/mat over the side when not actually in use. Put nice white soap dish in a corner. I think green and white is pretty.

That's a great idea. I plan to use ivory towels and accents to cut down the dark colors and hopefully the green too. Right now I've got a really nice shower curtain that is ivory. It looks really nice but my husband wants to get the doors instead of the curtains.
