Now that's interesting. Wonder how the glare is? I love can lights -- that wonderful soft white light is beautiful -- but when sitting in a chair the glare bothers me. I prefer those black lined cans that everybody hates, lol!

Let me ask a question - Is it possible to install can lighting in a kitchen without a lot of ceiling disruption? Let's face it - I have NO IDEA how wiring is run to cans, but was wondering can it all be done from the attic? Exactly how is this done? And I won't be askig this questions of DH - he doesn't know we need lightng.

All I currently have is a ceiling fan with three bulb light fixture. I do have a nice set of three recesed halogen lights over sink which I love. Pendants are not an option because of the layout. They would just be projections from the ceiling that didn't need to be there. I don't have undercabinet lighting, which actually seems like it would be more work than cans.

There are remodeling recessed cans that can be put in through a hole slightly smaller than the decorative aperture ring that fits on. Or, it could probably be done from the attic with minimal disruption if you have full access. The wiring would have to be run from somewhere--other fixtures or circuit.
