We just had to replace our Maytag Neptune stackable after only 8 years! I would never buy another one. Don't know if it's an issue or not, but our laundry location is on the second floor on ceramic tile. Maytag has been known to have vibration issues. To fix the washing machine would have been $600.00 not including labor and then it would have only been a 90 day warranty. We replaced it with an LG stackable. Hope that it will last longer than the Neptune.

Thanks for your response, runingfeet. I've read about the terrible problems with the original Neptunes--- if you have had yours for 8 years, perhaps it was part of the group that sank the company.

Does anyone have experience with a more recent model of this machine?
I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Halbert - I don't have that machine, but I do have a stackable Maytag Neptune that was purchased this past July. This machine was purchased after Maytag had been acquired by Whirlpool and long after the original Neptune problems were said to have been corrected.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend a Maytag Neptune to anyone. My saga is linked below.

In the end, we decided that we wanted to have the ability to use an Intelliflow device (2nd floor laundry), so that nixed the Maytag. We spent a lot more and ordered and pair of stackable LGs--- they arrive tomorrow. I sure hope it works out.
